内容記述 | The torsional fatigue test, especially the phenomena a little prior to the fatigue failure is reported. The experimental data for this paper belong to the same series of data as for the main report, in which the concept of fatigue torque was established and evaluated. The following are made clear by this study, in which the torsional fatigue test is regarded as a damped forced torsional vibration, and the spring factor and the damping factor are dealt as variables in the vibration equation. (1) At the critical cycle after which the specimen hastily approach the fatigue failure, a) The damping factor is zero. b) T_w/T (fatigue torque to test torque) does not exceed a constant peculiar to the system. c) T_w/T increases abruptly after the critical cycle for the fracture. d) The critical cycle coincides with the life N in the S?N curve. (2) For the period before the critical cycle, a) T_w/T increases gradually until the critical cycle is reached. b) At the same number of cycle, T_w/T is greater for the higher stress amplitude than for the lower, as long as it is between the endurance stress and yielding one. The experiment shows this does not hold for the comparison across either limit of stress. c) The relation between the temperature rise and the damping factor calculated by the measured T_w/T, during the test, is similar to that known for the statical test. | |||||
