| 内容記述 | In this paper, we will examine the usage of Gerund, Infinitive and Present Participle. It seems to us that historical linguistics has provided very useful insights especially Gerund. This time, we will look at the various aspects of them: their syntactic, phonological and semantic aspects. At the same time, we will take both diachronic aspects and synchronic aspects into account. Taking a careful consideration on the result of historical linguistics, we will investigate their usage in present-day English based on linguistics. | |||||||||||
