| 内容記述 | With the joint R＆D of Kitami Institute of Technology and Kyocera Corporation, solar-powered electric vehicles No.1 (SEV-1) and No. 2 (SEV-2) were made in 1989 and 1990 respectively. We subsequently improved them so they could compete in the ”Solar Challenge in Hokkaido ’91” road race in Kitami City. A simulation calculation was done beforehand to determine the optimum running mode, or how fast the car could run the race course with minimum power consumption. For calculation purpose, solar radiation was measured at Kitami Institute of Technology, and the course conditions, such as elevation changes, cornering and surface roughness of the road, traffic signs and so on, were taken into account as input data. With limited speed on a horizontal and an upward sloping roads, and with unlimited speed on downward sloping roads, the minimum running time for the cars SEV-1 and SEV-2 could be determined under 80％ consumption of the energy stored in the battery. | |||||
