First, a 1-bit ADC with uniformly distributed threshold voltage was modeled as anensamble, then its quantization noise PDF has been analytically calculated. Tne result is a triangular PDF, when random input signal with uniform PDF is applied to 1-bit ADC. Finally, an SFADC composed of N I-bit ADC with uniformly distributed threshold voltages has been analyzed. Interestingly, it was found that the resulting PDF of quantization noise shows Gaussian-like distribution, unlike uniform PDF of ordinary flash ADCs.
