The outlet of\na dry dam is located at the same height with the riverbed , so a dry dam assumedly gives less impact on\nwater environment. One of the problems of a dry dam is that drift wood may stop up the dam opening at\nthe time of floods and cause the dam to overflow and/or break down. However , it has not been clarified\nhow drift wood accumulates in a dry dam reservoir. The purpose of this study is to look into the way drift\nwood accumulates by examining how it flows down the river and how it moves in the reservoir at the time\nof floods . First , video clips of flowing wood were analyzed. It was shown that the amount of the flowing\nwood is the largest at the beginning of floods. Second , we had a field work to investigate where in the\nreservoir the flowing wood accumulates.
