The two solutions are deduced from the generalized Elliot solution which has five independent potential functions. Expressions for components of displacement and stress are explicitly presented. Axi-symmetric bending of the plate subjected to a uniformly distributed annular load is analyzed by one method of solution in that a homogeneous solution consisting of the two solutions and a particular solution deduced from a part of the generalized Elliott solution are used to satisfy boundary and loading conditions.
