Here,I will focus my attention on the death imagery in Sidney's poetry, and l will consider the importance of that imagery in critically appreciating his poems. I think that Plato and his ideas had great importance in the construction of Sidney's own ideas in making his poetry,especially those concerning death. It was Plato who defined that this life is just a shadow of another world which is called an ideal existence. In Sidney's poetry, l found that this idea of Plato's has a very fresh expression,and it could be said that Plato's ideas are a key which can solve many mysteries surrounding Sidney's poems.}, pages = {33--42}, title = {シェイクスピアの<目>のイメージに関する研究(6)}, volume = {27}, year = {1995} }
