@article{oai:kitami-it.repo.nii.ac.jp:00006726, author = {鳴島, 史之}, issue = {2}, journal = {北見工業大学研究報告}, month = {Feb}, note = {application/pdf, In this paper,I will deal with Sir Philip Sidney's Astrophil, and Stella,and compare this sequence of sonnets with that of Shakespeare's. I will point out that one of the differences between these two collections of sonnets consists of the appearance and disappearance of Cupid,the God of Love. I will try to show how much importance the imagery of Cupid has for Sidney's poetry,because Cupid is one of the images deriving from Italian sonnets,especially Petrarch's. I have traced the origin of English sonnet sequences from Petrarch in a previous paper,and I'd like to place Sidney's sonnets definitely in that stream. The imagery of eyes is another important topic of my paper,and I will show some evidence of how that imagery is associated with Cupid in Sidney's sonnets. I will also try to solve the mystery of why Shakespeare did not use the imagery of Cupid in his sonnets. In passing, l will briefly indicate that there is a break in the theme of Cupid after sonnet 86 in Astrophil, and Stella,which can be explained as being the point at which there was a break in the writing of the sonnet sequence itself.}, pages = {101--114}, title = {シェイクスピアの<目>のイメージに関する研究(5)}, volume = {26}, year = {1995} }
