The reactor has been characterized on its activity and selectivity to C_2一production. A porous ceramic membrane tube (α-Al_2O_3,d=14000Å,φ=10mm,L=10cm)is used for the reactor and an La/MgO-catalyst is supported into pores in the membrane by an impregnation technique. The pore size of the membrane could be reduced up to 1000Å, by increasing the number of impregnations. Effective gas separation appears around a pore diameter of 3000Å and C_2-selectivity enhancement is also initiated at the same pore size.
