An hypothesis for explaining variations in the wear rate experienced in the actual turning is proposed, in which the scatter is mainly caused by changes of stress and temperature along the wear land and by fatigue deterioration of the wear surface. Variations in the wear rate are also induced by vibration between the tool and the work material, including cases in which the wear surface completely separates from the machined surface. Numerical analysis and a special mechanical impact fatigue experiment partially prove that the hypothesis, in conjunction with a wear characteristic equation proposed elsewhere (Reference (4)), holds qualitatively, although a thermal fatigue experiment is to be performed.}, pages = {147--156}, title = {切削工具逃げ面摩耗のバラツキの原因究明に関する基礎的研究 (第1報) -摩耗面の機械的衝撃疲労劣化と劣化モデル-}, volume = {14}, year = {1983} }
