In the first place, we investigate the optimum operation of the power system including a pumping-up power station. In so doing, we consider what is optimum start-up and shut-down for thermal power stations and a pumping-up power station, and how is optimum dispatch to thermal power stations and a pumping-up power station. In the second place, we investigate optimum operation of the power system including some pumping-up power stations. In this time, we consider how is optimum dispatch to pumping-up power stations.
