| 内容記述 | The method, condition and availability for the smoke wire technique, which is used to visualize the flow patterns by using the smoke produced from a fine nicrom wire coated with oil, when a short electric pulse is supplied on it, are described. As a result, it is clarified that this technique is an effective method to measure steady or unsteady flow fields with slow velocity vectors, and the local and complex flow fields, which can not be measured with the conventional apparatus, for example, Pitot tube or hot-wire anemometer. Moreover, it is found that gate type vortexes are periodically shedding from the cylinder and its ends are situated on the plane, by applying this method to the now field around a finite cylinder mounted vertically in a laminar boundary-layer on condition that the height of the cylinder is equal to its diameter and boundary-layer thickness in which the cylinder is located. | |||||
