This report is a supplement to those already published, and also is a conclusive one on the mechanism of the formation of cold anomalies in the Kitami District, for which the writer has been studied for five years.    The periglacial phenomena were classified into four groups ; (a)those occuring above 1700 m where the annual average temperature is below ?2℃ and the freezing index is more than 2000℃-day,where there are dwarf pine and alpine vegetations. Active permafrost,sorted polygons and rock-field on altiplanation terraces,nivation niches,solifluction lobes and stripes are observed ;(b)Those between 300?400 m and 1,000?1,300 m,+4°?O℃,900?1,700. Former altiplanation terraces are observed at 1,150?1,300 m, 850?900 m, 720?750 m, and 530?650 m respectively. Frost-shattering and -cracking are pronounced at 300?400 m, on the foot of the hillslopes and along the former lake shore where welded tuff is exposed in most cases ;(c)Those below 300 m and +4℃,∠900 Verved clay,involutions,fossil ice-wedge in volcanic ash, turf hammocks and creeps. etc.,are observed ;(d)Ice-shove ridges along the beach of the Okhotsk Sea.   The cold anomalies including sporadic permafrost within the area of(b)are formed mostly in frost-shattered and -clacked welded tuff(and rhyolite),where thick peat and/or moss cover works as an insulator and a damper for heat and air circulation. In the early winter, when the diurnal minimum reaches to ?10°??15℃,the cold air which flowed in through the natural or artificial opening cool the debris or cracked bedrock, the saturated humidity condenses and freezes into ice. The freezing front proceeds downwards from the ground surface and also from the cold-air passage in the debris beds, and reaches to 3 m or more from the surface by beginning of summer. In midsummer outside air sucked in through the dried peat-moss cover flows mostly through the same passage as the cold-air and adds humidity to the ice. The warm air and the bedrock(annual average temperature 0.7°?1.0℃)cannot complete the melting of underground ice below the level of openings until the next cooling starts. Thus the underground ice in the .300?400 m area us considered to be “recent” permafrost. There might be those which have survived for thousands of years as a relic of “ice-age” permafrost, but most of them are believed formed recently. The paleo-climate and ?geography were summarized. The writer concluded that the Kitami District had been a typical periglacial region during the past ice ages up to 40,000years ago ; the bared mountain above tree-line had a number of karls, limited valley glaciers and firn covering in the upstream areas of main river. Former ice-lakes at the altitudes of 1,100?1,200 m (Paleo Taisetsu Lake), 300?310 m (Paleo Rubeshibe Lake) and many other below 120 m to the then shoreline of Okhotsk Sea(about 15 km from the present shoreline 25,000 years B.P) are recognizable with the locations of ververd clay and the _14C again. At present the Kitami District which is situated along the Sea of Okhotsk still keeps the southern most boundary climate of a subarctic region, with the cold-air cover in winter which is produces by the north wind passing over the ice-packed sea of Okhotsk and the prevailes westerlies passing over the backbone mountains of Hokkaido. The dry cold cover of air layers gives less snowfall but severe coldness there, thus making the Kitami District a model area of periglacial phenomena in Japan.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_2_full_name_3":{"attribute_name":"著者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"32400","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"SHIBOI, Toshio"}]}]},"item_2_publisher_32":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"北見工業大学"}]},"item_2_select_15":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_select_item":"publisher"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"志保井, 利夫"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"32399","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-11-22"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"7-1-16.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"14.6 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"7-1-16.pdf","url":"https://kitami-it.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/6384/files/7-1-16.pdf"},"version_id":"d7004f96-cd25-4680-9b83-fb96504a1a95"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"北見地方で見られる周氷河地形現象についての考察(補遺)","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"北見地方で見られる周氷河地形現象についての考察(補遺)"}]},"item_type_id":"2","owner":"1","path":["23"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2007-04-09"},"publish_date":"2007-04-09","publish_status":"0","recid":"6384","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["北見地方で見られる周氷河地形現象についての考察(補遺)"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":3},"updated":"2022-12-13T02:19:44.703599+00:00"}
