As the three factors in the three-way classification,turbidity of kaolinite suspension,coagulant dosage and added volume of 0.1N-NaOH solution were selected,and then experiments were performed in 1-liter beaker, using the 6-series jar tester. From the analyses of variance of the experimental values,the author obtained two orthogonal polynomials on the bulk volume of floc particles,which contained the significant main effects and two-factor interactions and showed to conform to the data of the experiments.
