As a result，we reached the conclusion that Edgerton's equation was not sufficient to represent completely the abrupt transient phenomenon for pulling-into-step after one swing. In this paper，first，we adopted equations devised by vanNess，Aldred and others and derived two normalized dimensionless differential equations concerning pulling-into step with the field time constant and the mutual inductance between the direct-axis armature and the field taken into consideration.
