Studies on semiconductor-liquid junction solar cells were performed with a polycrystaline n-TiO_2/NaOH//H_2SO_4,/Pt system. The polycrystalline n-TiO_2 (rutile) was formed by heat oxidation in air of 10^<-3> Torr at 900℃ for several different heating times. The most efficient polycrystaline n-TiO_2 was obtained by heat oxidation of 90 minutes, and the cell made of this n-TiO_2 produced the highest maximum power of the 1 N NaOH/1 N H_2SO_4 solution. For further development of this type, a semiconductor having a smaller band-gap should be used instead of, n-TiO_2. This must be stable in electrolyte solutions A-silicon will be investigated in further studies, we planning in the near future.
