To explain the effects of stress wave forms on fatigue behavior, the fatigue test by square stress wave form was investigated and compared with the common case by sine stress wave form. The results obtained by this test are summarized as follows. 1) The hysteresis loop is closely connected with fatigue process. It is remarkable especially by the square stress wave, the loop area increasing suddenly at the cycle 1% of each fatigue cycle. 2) The relation betweenε_p, plastic strain width and stress amplitude divided by each endurance limit is almost constantly independent of the stress wave form. 3) The yielding point of fatigued test piece is almost proportional to the stress amplitude in both the sine and square wave form.
