About 98 99% of the tellurium in anode slime,was extracted by the following treatment. Free sulphuric acid in anode slime,was washed away with water. The slime was roasted in air at about 300 400℃ and leached with dilute hydrochloric acid. After filtering,quadrivalent tellurium in dilute hydrochloric acid was reduced to tellurium by sulphur dioxide. When the slime contained antimony,it was nessesary that sulphur dioxide was passed into the hot 3.4 5.0 N hydrochloric acid solution and the filtering temperature was ≧80℃.
