          <datacite:description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">The apparent normal emittance and the apparent directional emittanｃe on rough Metaｌｌic surfaces increase more than the emittances on smooth surface of same metals. In this paper was the apparent directional emittance on random rough metaｌｌic surfaces computed， assuming that the rough surfaces composed of several sorts of circular grooves of varied depth. Next ｗere measurements taken of the apparent directional emittance on rough surfaces of aluminum and brass，scratched with various kinds of grain sized sandpaper. As a result the qualitative agreement between the values　of the calculations and the measurements was obtained.</datacite:description>
